I have had the privilege to interview another amazing author. This woman is a writing wizard. Everything she writes is seriously amazing. I love it all. You can see my reviews of some of her work below. Her name is Serena Akeroyd and she writes some super steamy books that don’t fade to black (who wants that?!). She has amazing story-building skills and creates characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. ❤

Tell me more about yourself. Likes, dislikes, quirks, etc.
I’m such a boring person, Julia. Seriously. It’s depressing, lol. My life is literally revolved around my writing and my books. Oh, and don’t forget my dog! 😍 His name is Trev, and he’s got more attitude than a Kardashian. 😉
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
When I was about 18, I first picked up a Harlequin book from a library. I devoured about ten of them in a week and thought, holy crap, I need to write like this. It seriously went from there, and I devoured everything and anything Harlequin. I have about 2000 books in my backroom, 🤦♂️, and from there, it went to erotica, and then menage! My first ever menage was a Maya Banks novel. 😋 When I read that, wow, it was like a hurricane to my brain. I knew I wanted to write poly because I connected with it so hardddd.
Do you have a pen name? If so, what made you decide to do that?
I used one because I thought all the best authors used them! 😂 Talk about bowing to peer pressure. Well, of the self-imposed variety.
How long does it take you to write a book?
It can take me anything from three days to a month, story depending. A Quintessence book can take about a week. The story is developed to the point where I have a lot going on. At the moment, I’m struggling with one of the stories as I’m trying to fight where it’s going. I average about ten thousand words a day.
What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
My schedule is impossible to schedule. 😋 I sleep mostly through the day and am awake at night. I could be writing at 5am and 5pm, then sleep for fourteen hours to start again. Sleep is one of my biggest issues. I have a crappy sleep routine.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
That my characters drive me to the point where I go completely off script. I’m scheduled to write a few books in the upcoming months, and yet, I’m writing none of them at the minute. 🤦♂️ A story popped into my head and I have no choice but to follow its lead!
How hard was it to get your books published?
I actually had a few publishers interested in my earlier books, but then I went the self-publishing route which is sooo much easier.
Where do you get the ideas for your books?
From anywhere and everywhere. I tend to find my story roots in a question. Like why did someone do this? Why wouldn’t they? Etc. It’s pretty random. My story concepts can stir from a single line and boom. There’s a book. My brain is nuts.
How much research do you put into your writing?
A shit ton! OMG, so much. It depends on the story, though. Dare You To Love Me required a ton because I’m British so never went to American High School. I had to learn everything and it went through so many editors to make sure it was authentic. Then Hotter than Hades was packed with Greek mythology. I had so much to learn but I love research!
When did you write your first book and how old were you?
My first one, I was around 21.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Very little. 😂 I’m reading or watching TV, walking my dog or trying to persuade myself to do yoga. I told you already-I’m super boring. 😂
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That people connect with my work. It’s a dream come true to know that people like my stories. That people follow my series for more. It’s a revelation.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I think I’m coming up toward fifty. My favorite? Impossible to say. 😉
Do you have any suggestions to help someone become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Read. Just read. Seriously. Read more. Then some more. Get a KU subscription, see what’s popular, and go where the market leads you but ALWAYS stick to your guns and your own voice. Write your story the way you want, and hold fast. ♥
Who is your author idol?
Linda Howard. I love her early books. Someone compared me to her the other day and I about sobbed.
Linda Howard. I love her early books. Someone compared me to her the other day and I about sobbed.
Which book/series was the most fun to write?
Five Points was one of the funniest series because I was totally enthralled with the characters. Finn in Screw You and Screw Me had me enraptured from the start. That’s always a good sign. I wrote that duet in two weeks. I’ve never written anything so quickly in my life.
Which book/series was the hardest to write?
I’d say The TriAlpha Chronicles because it was long, in-depth, and so convoluted plot-wise for me that it was like weaving a tapestry. I loved it though but it was difficult because each book was super long and I had to get each one ready every month for half a year!
What kinds of books do you like to read?! What books are on your TBR?
I’m currently in an MC and Mafia phase. I’m addicted to the mobsters. 😂 I just devoured a crap ton of Hayley Faiman books.
I am way past fangirling! Serena is freaking amazing. She is a writing machine. Somehow she is able to put books out at such a fast pace and they are freaking amazing. She is such a kind soul and super interactive with her readers. If you aren’t swooned by her yet you are crazy!
I want to take you all on a journey. A journey of sexiness. Of course this journey includes Serena Akeroyd because everything she writes is pure freaking gold. I am seriously swooned. Swooned by some men. Hades, Christian, and Nash. This book is good. Really good. Let’s get into it dolls ❤
Okay so we have our beautiful female main character, Cressida or Cressy. She is a singer that lives a pretty solitary life. She doesn’t have any family or friends, other than her one friend Ella who she doesn’t get to see very often due to her tours and her friend’s busy job. Cressy’s life was changed a few months back when she was assaulted by another singer at the company she works for. She was unable to take action against her attacker and since then has felt depressed and fearful of those around her. She is only surrounded by her manager, crew, and a fellow singer she is touring with. The story starts off emotionally dark but Cressy is a very likable character. She is still strong even after the turmoil she has experienced and still finds something to look forward to when her friend Ella has taken some time off to come to one of her shows.
Nash is touring with Cressy and he can’t help his attraction to her. What makes her more attractive? The fact that he can see she is attracted to him but fights it. He spends all his time in close contact with her and can’t keep his eyes off her. He has seen how her mood has changed, how her spirit has diminished. When her friend Ella comes to see their show he sees her light up again. Cressy and Ella have a night of fun. They get to catch up and Ella is able to bring some fun back into Cressy’s life.
A horrible turn of events brings Cressy to a new low. Taken into the arms of Nash he helps her through her troubles and introduces her to some men that can help. Hades and Christian. Oh em gee. Hades is so fucking swoony I just can’t, I literally can’t. Immediately upon meeting Christian and Hades it is clear that there is something between them. Something out of their control, something fated. Hades, Christian, and Nash begin to swoon Cressy as she is thrown into a world of what she believed to be folklore. The love that develops between the group of them is amazing. I constantly found myself giggling and smiling like an idiot. The men help pull Cressy out of the darkness that has become her life. They help her find herself and they help her seek retribution for the wrongs that have been dealt to her.
This book was really fucking good. Like super good. One of my favorite reads so far this year. It was so interesting learning more about the Gods and their guardians and this awesome world Serena Akeroyd has created. She just has the ability to make me so freaking swoony that I feel a little heartbroken when it’s over. She also really knows how to bring the steam. I swear she is the queen of steamy scenes. Plus, this book is one in a series that will continue looking at each of the gods find their mates. The next book, is about Cressy’s friend Ella. Swoon. I can’t wait to keep reading these books. Serena can’t come out with them fast enough ❤
“I wanted her to know that I would kneel for one woman and one woman alone in this world, and that was her.”Hades – Hotter than Hades by Serena Akeroyd
It’s time to swoon with me dolls ❤
Hi Swooners! I have the opportunity to participate in a blog tour for the Haven Realm Books by Mila Young! I read the first book, Hunted, and it definitely got me swooning, I can’t wait to jump into book 2 and 3!!! Let’s get into it ❤
The first book, Hunted, is a loose rendition of Little Red Riding hood. The female main character is Scarlet owns a herbal shop in Terra and lives a simple life. The most excitement in her life comes from her dirty minded friend Bee [my kinda girl :D]. Scarlet was left the shop from her grandma who has passed away and it is her life. In a world were magic is illegal, she tries to use her knowledge of herbal remedies and a bit of magic to help the people of Terra. Scarlet is your typical shy girl that has a really simple life, until of course everything in her life is upended.
Scarlet’s friend Bee is a witch and relies on Scarlet for a lot of her herbal needs for spells. Bee’s need for Wolfsbane sends Scarlet into the forest and to the start of her new life. As Scarlet searches for this dangerous herb she witnesses something horrendous. The Priestess who lords over her section of Terra has a deep hatred for shifters and is breaking the Haven laws in her own hatred. As Scarlet is caught witnessing this she is immediately chased by the Priestess’s guards until she falls into the Den in her attempts to escape.
The Den is where the swoon starts. Scarlet is immediately attacked by a pack of wolves, knocked out, and carried off to a house. This is where she meets Nero, Oryn, and Dagen. These wolf shifters, or hunters as they prefer to be called, are all alphas and very hot. Another awesome tidbit about these hunters are that they do not feel a need for clothes. I mean if you are going from wolf to human over and over I’m sure clothes would seem tedious. No complaints here 😉 Scarlet attraction to each of them in time is immediate and confusing. The males wolves find the urgent need to claim her and she turns into a horny bitch that can’t wait to jump their bones. You go girl.
Scarlet must navigate this new territory with these men attempting to eradicate the affliction that has overtaken some of the pack rendering them completely mindless and dangerous. She also has to figure out if she can be the mate to not one, but three alphas wolves. This book is really good. I love that each of the books are standalone so you get the whole story in one book with no cliff-hangers and a happily ever after. Plus in book 2 we get to hear about Bee’s story which I’m super excited about because I love me some dirty minded chicks 😀 I would definitely recommend this book series as it has all the needed elements. Lovable characters, action, swoon, and a hell of a lot of steam.
Come on guys, let’s swoon ❤

I have been reading some dark stuff lately so I figured I needed an upper. I have heard a lot of awesome things about this book and it definitely lived up to it. It’s not only super swoony but also hilarious. Plus, I mean who doesn’t love cupid ❤
So we have Emelle who is a Cupid. That’s right. A cupid. Imagine me reading this book with a song on constant replay in my heard. Yup you guessed it, Mandy Moore singing Stupid Cupid in The Princess Diaries. I literally just kept replaying it in my head, luckily I like that song… Emelle lives in this in-between place called ‘The Veil’ and can’t be seen or heard. (Yes, similar to a lot of books I read… I didn’t completely move on from my norm!) Kinda like a ghost just a hell of a lot more cheerful. Or at least she used to be. Being a Cupid has made Emelle very very jaded when it comes to love. She works her ass off as a cupid only to see these relationships she has but her love, sweat, and tears into fall apart in front of her eyes. Not only does this make being a cupid difficult but she also has to live her life, er afterlife, as a constant observer. Where is the love for Emelle?! Can you imagine watching being fall in love and get down and dirty only to live such a lonely existence? I couldn’t deal.
Emelle’s jadedness gets the better of her and she sometimes goes off the books. Splits up couples who’s partners are cheating on them, giving the third wheel a helping hand, starting orgies in the street… You know, cupid stuff 😊 Well her cupid-misbehavior gets her called in to see her superiors. The head cupids if you will. Terrified she is going to get reprimanded again or worse, fired. Aka poofed from existence. No more cupid for her, no more anything. The only upside is that she gets to spend some time with some people that can see her. Other cupids! It’s very short lived though because as soon as she is called back she is given some very suprising news. She isn’t getting poofed (whew!) she is instead getting transferred from the human realm to the fae realm. Nice!
Emelle is super stoked about her last chance kind of promotion. Finally a new start and she is convinced she is going to start the love of the century. Especially when she sees that the prince has recently gone into an arranged marriage. Nothing like a cupid to add some love in a forced relationship! Well unfortunately men will be men… errr the prince is a douche… (sorry, feminist slip 😉). Everything seems great, it looks like the prince and future princess Soora are a match made in heaven. Until Emelle notices he has a thing for banging every freaking woman in the castle. Ugh. What a fucking pig. Emelle witnesses her hard work fail again as the prince continues to think with the wrong head and Princess Soora learns of his misdeeds and spends her nights crying herself to sleep. Love sucks. Emelle unleashes her fury by repeatedly shooting the prince in the heart with her cupid arrows over and over and over and over. So much so that the normal reaction of love doesn’t just happen, there is so much that he realizes something is up. The prince isn’t a human, he is a fae so he recognizes the magic happening and shoots some magic himself. Smack dab into Emelle causing her to become corporeal!
Emelle has to make a fast escape which is rather difficult as she has never walked, ran, or flew before. She has been in that in-between ghost like level so she just kinda floated everywhere. Well running is hard. I mean my ass has been corporeal for 27 and I still can’t run. She has to escape though and fast, an attack on the prince is no laughing matter. Her leap out the window leads to a really long fall, a really loooong fall. Plus with a lot of pain because holy shit pain must hurt when you haven’t felt anything in 50 years. Lucky for Emelle she falls right onto an island of some really really hot fae. 3 really hot fae to be exact. Fae that are super hot but don’t trust her, shoot her in the wing, and tie her up calling her a demon. What kind of demon would be this beautiful, have pink hair, and fluffy red wings?! So much for this cupid finally getting love…
I love this book so much. It was really hilarious and unique. Plus once we get on the island with the guys shit gets swoonier. Ronak (who I totally picture looking like Jason Momoa from Game of Thrones 😍), Evert (bearded Liam Hemsworth), and Sylred (obvi Charlie Hunnam) are completely hot, infuriating, sweet, and annoying. Pretty much an amazing combo right?! Seeing Emelle try to deal with having a real life and trying to convince the guys she isn’t a demon even though she has red wings is hilarious. I really enjoyed this book and have already jumped into the second one which is also suuuuper good. Well what are you waiting for? Do you need to be shot with an arrow? Swoon with me! ❤
If these three aren’t enough to make you wanna jump into this book I don’t know what will…. 😊❤
